Wood Types
Eastern White Pine: Grown in western North Carolina’s mountains and foothills, this wood is dried and crafted into specialty wood products such as Tongue & Groove, Shiplap, Siding, Logs, and Post & Beam. The white pine is white with knots every 2 to 3 feet.
Western Red Cedar: Grown in British Columbia and preferred for outdoor use, W. red cedar shows natural beauty, decay-resistant properties, and a pleasant smell. Cedar is used for various applications ranging from Cedar Shakes to Post & Beam for both indoor and outdoor use. The knots are random, and its color can range from pink to brown to white.
Douglas Fir: Grown in Oregon and Washington, douglas fir is available as Free of Heart Center (FOHC) to minimize cracks and splits.
