Reliance Timber FAQ’s
What sizes do you offer?
While the type of wood you choose does weigh into it, our range of sizing is as small as 1×4 or as large as 12×20. The longest sizing is 40 feet, and 8 feet is the shortest.
Why should we purchase from Reliance Timber?
We’re dedicated to standing behind what we mill, which mean you can expect good sound material. We have a much more broad product list than the average saw mill, and we have the capability to do more things than our competitors. We have many more abilities and options for wood products as far as profiles, textures, sizes, styles, and species.
Do you offer pre-cut log packages?
No. Our products are cut on site because we like to avoid the danger that’s involved in pre-cutting. Products can shrink throughout the shipment process, which is why it’s important to avoid pre-cut products.
What is your lead time?
This depends on the product. Here are the lead times for a few of our more popular orders:
- Rough sawn – 2-3 days
- Dressing (S4S) – 1-2 weeks
- Running a pattern such as Tongue & Groove or Nickel Gap – 2-3 weeks
- Logs – 3-4 weeks
- Log Corners adds 1-2 weeks to a log order
Do you deliver? Where do you deliver?
Yes. We ship world-wide.
Do you require a deposit?
Yes. We require a 50% deposit. If you’re a building supplier, you can set up an account for payments.
Can we purchase directly from you?
Yes. Anyone can put in an order, from home-owner to building supplier.
General FAQs
What's the difference between logs versus log siding?
Logs make up a real log-system instead of building a home with 2x4s. Log Siding is put on Conventional Homes instead of vinyl or brick siding.
How often do you have to stain the wood?
This depends heavily on your environment, and the product you choose. We typically recommend you stain every 3-5 years.
How do I deter carpenter bees?
Mixing the right insecticide into your stain and then applying that to your wood will help deter boring bees. We sell NBS-30 which can be mixed into the stain.
